Getting Going....Fitness

Oct 31, 2006  ·  07:17 AM  ·  permalink

Having suffered a number of muscle and connective-tissue injuries last season, I resolved that this year I would focus on fitness and train specifically for ski season—something I’ve never had to do before (and a sign that the mid-30s have started catching up to me).

This summer was not as productive in this regard as I had hoped, so now I’m scrambling for a fitness plan that will get me well on my way by Thanksgiving.

The November 2006 issue of Ski Magazine has a nice little article titled “Get Fit Fast” which details a 20-minute circuit consisting of five multiple muscle-group exercises. I also found a few good resources online:

But I’d also like to find a routine that includes a focus on injury prevention—anyone out there have any suggestions? How are you getting fit for this season and what works for you?
