07-08 Intrawest season passes are on sale now, and they include Steamboat: http://www.passwagon.com
It seems like Intrawest is kind of positioning Steamboat the same way Vail Resorts positions Vail (as the high end part of their offering). You can get a Super Pass (Copper/Winter Park) for $379. Then there’s the Super Pass Plus that adds 6 unrestricted days at Steamboat for $479. If you’re a real high roller, you can get the Ultimate Pass for $999, which is unrestricted at each of the 3 resorts.
I’m interested in seeing if Intrawest does a 4-pack type thing for Steamboat.

The snow is slushy, Lake Dillon is getting unsafe, and guys skiing in “wacky” Hawai’ian shirts dot A-Basin’s slopes. It can only mean one thing: time to buy next year’s season pass.
Vail Resort’s venerable Colorado Pass is currently available for $419 to those renewing their passes (others can purchase a new pass after May 13, 2007). But for another $100, you can get six out of your ten Vail/Beaver Creek days black-out free with their new offering: Colorado Pass Plus
For my money, the Colorado Pass is the best skiing value in the state—ten days at Vail alone make it worthwhile. Of course, the normal Colorado Pass comes with up to four tickets priced at $45, so upgrading to the Colorado Pass Plus only makes sense if you need more than a couple of unrestricted ski days at Vail.
More information on dates for purchasing new passes:
New Passholder can purchase in person at these retail locations.
(April 13 through May 6):
REI: Denver Flagship, Fort Collins
Boulder Ski Deals: Boulder
Colorado Ski and Golf: Aurora, Arvada, Colorado Springs and Littleton
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (store hours).

When I had to move our Aspen ski trip from mid February to late March, I was a bit worried that we wouldn’t have any snow. On the trip from up I-70 we were getting snowed on from Evergreen until Vail Pass and I knew we totally lucked out.
Even with a little fresh snow, the crowds were nonexistent at both Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain. Our first few runs at the Highlands on Saturday were spent on wide open runs that had been groomed before a couple inches of fresh snow landed on top. They were great fun and they were completely empty. It was like having your own private ski resort.

Girly burly is a term that is used frequently in my circle of female friends. These ladies ride 100 mile bike races over 10,000 foot mountain passes, lead 5.10 climbing routes, barrel down double black diamonds and up 14ers with the greatest of ease. And they look hot doing it.
Gear has gotten a lot better lately for the fairer sex. When I first started my journey as a gear hound, women’s sports fashion consisted of men’s sports fashion in smaller sizes, and that was just if we were lucky. It was all very masculine and very blah.
Now you can walk into any gear store and find all kinds of gear made specifically for women. Backpacks, sleeping bags, clothes, skis and snowboards that don’t just fit women well but make you look like a girl too. They are high performance and cute all at the same time. Sometimes I feel sorry for the guys.
Some of my favorites lately:
Gregory’s Iris backpack Ultralight, fit specifically for women, and just the right size for a day of skiing or hiking.
Ibex’s Zepher T-neck Base Layer 100% Merino wool, great curvy fit, and great colors.
Champion SmoothSport Bra Keeps everything in place without smooshing you flat.
K2’s Phat Luv Skis Very girly, very burly in deep powder.
And my two picks for girly gear websites: Title Nine and Outdoor Divas.
